What we aim to solve:
Communities carry many stories, poems, and crafts, but these traditions are slowly being forgotten. Local storytellers, poets, and artisans often have no place to share their skills, and younger people are losing touch with them. At the same time, everyday spaces—like markets, schools, tea stalls, and clubs—are full of life but are not used to keep culture alive. Without care, these voices and traditions may disappear. Our work creates small community spaces where people can share stories, show crafts, and learn from one another, keeping traditions alive and building stronger connections across generations.
Organization Goals
Our work begins with a simple belief: every community holds stories, poems, and crafts that deserve to be shared. These living traditions bring pride, joy, and connection, yet many risk being forgotten. Our goal is to bring them back into everyday life while inspiring the next generation to carry them forward.
Create welcoming spaces.
We design small but vibrant spaces—story huts in schools, pavilions in markets, corners by tea stalls—where people already gather. These places host storytelling, poetry, and crafts, while serving everyday needs.
Lift up local voices.
We empower storytellers, artisans, and youth by giving them platforms to share, learn, and grow. With training and mentorship, their voices gain confidence and their skills pass to future generations.
Inspire young professionals.
A core part of our vision is to encourage young professionals to live and work in remote places. By supporting them with opportunities, mentorship, and community-based projects, we help them discover the richness of local culture and the strength of working alongside communities. In turn, their energy, creativity, and new perspectives bring fresh ideas, digital skills, and bridges to wider networks. This two-way exchange nurtures both communities and the young professionals themselves, building a new generation of leaders rooted in empathy and resilience.
Weave wider connections.
Each space links into a larger local and digital network, allowing traditions to travel, voices to be heard, and collaborations to grow.
By strengthening communities and guiding young professionals to engage deeply with them, we aim to nurture goodwill spaces that preserve traditions, foster learning, and build futures that are connected, creative, and strong.
Strategy to Achieve the Goal
We believe culture thrives when it lives in the daily lives of people and is shared across generations. Our approach is to work closely with communities, youth, and young professionals to create spaces where stories, poems, and crafts can be celebrated.
Co-create with the community. Together with local people, we will design and build story huts, market pavilions, tea-stall corners, and school spaces that reflect their needs, traditions, and daily rhythms. Shared ownership helps these spaces remain active and cared for.
Support local voices. We will provide workshops, mentoring, and opportunities for storytellers, poets, and artisans to share their skills. Children and young people will be invited to participate in story circles, craft exchanges, and learning sessions, building meaningful connections with elders.
Encourage young professionals. We will create pathways for young professionals to work in remote areas, offering guidance and projects that connect them with communities. Their energy, skills, and fresh perspectives will contribute to local creativity, while they gain valuable experience and understanding of living traditions.
Connect and document. Each space will be part of a wider network, with stories and crafts shared digitally and offline. Small local initiatives, like craft sales or book exchanges, will help the spaces continue naturally.
Through this approach, we hope to create lasting, welcoming spaces where culture, learning, and community grow together.
